Standing Together

Tu Tahi

Finding the strength to stand in tough times is not always easy. Circumstances can push us down and moments of crisis can assail us without warning. Yet, even in times of greatest uncertainty, hope can find a way.

By standing together, each one of us can arrive at a place of hope where transformational change can occur. And as hope finds its home, hardship, homelessness, and isolation can be left behind.

By standing together, entire communities can discover ways of weathering the storm and pressing on to the hope of a brighter tomorrow.

Visionwest Waka Whakakitenga’s 2021/2022 story is one of standing together. It’s a story of the incredible strength and resilience of those we journey alongside, and the beautiful and humble efforts of our Visionwest staff to encourage them in their most vulnerable times.

Celebrating the first
official Matariki holiday

Celebrating Matariki

Friday 24 June 2022 was the first official recognition of Matariki as an annual holiday.

As part of this recognition, there is a short Matariki focus near the centre of this report and each service’s story within this report, features a small graphic representing the star Hiwa-i-te- rangi, which points to the future and reminds us that, while so much has been accomplished, each service continues to have hopes and dreams for its tomorrow.
